Kimberly Hathaway, Managing Partner & Lead Strategist

Kimberly Hathaway has over 18 years of high-technology, B2B & consumer public relations experience. Her broad PR background includes managing accounts and media consulting for a wide variety of technology clients including Tyco Electronics' AMP NETCONNECT division, TriCN, Inc., Cincom, Inc., PSC Inc, West Corporation's Teleconferencing Division, Terayon Communication Systems, CrossCommerce, Intraware, eTime Capital, LAN SuperVision (LSVi), Executive Counterparts, SoftAd (now ChannelNet), ZAP! Electric Vehicles and Videometry.

Her B2B & technology background includes semiconductor IP, e-commerce, telecommunications, financial services, supply-chain, networking and enterprise technology. She has garnered extensive trade and business press and placed clients on CNN, CNBC, Fox News, The Today Show, 20/20, Good Morning America and numerous regional/local newscasts and programs. Hathaway served as account executive for several IDG Books' famous "For Dummies" series campaigns following the success of “DOS for Dummies.”

Her background includes book publicity, event production, community relations and product launches.

Hathaway's diversified consumer experience includes being a principal on the award-winning launch team for Anne Geddes, internationally-renowned New Zealand photographer, yearly book publicity for San Francisco Cuisine, publicity campaigns for author Elson Haas and numerous titles for Cedco Publishing, including Dilbert and the World Wildlife Fund.

Hathaway has booked keynotes and other strategic speaking engagements for conferences including Selling Power’s Sales Leadership Conference, Red Herring's Venture Conferences, Design Automation Conference (DAC), Fabless Semiconductor Association Expo, Intel Developers Forum, National Retail Federation, RFID World, Electronic Retailer's Association Annual Conference, Networld + Interop, Forrester Executive Strategy Forum, Gartner Executive Edge Summit, Technologic Partners Outlook events, CFO Magazine's e-CFO Conference, DCI's B2B World Conference & Expo, IEC's DesignCon, IEC National Communications Forum and speaking engagements at San Francisco’s Commonwealth Club.

Hathaway is a board member of Sunburst Projects, Steering Committee member for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man & Woman of the Year and Gala Steering Committee member for the Richmond-Ermet AIDS Foundation.

Her event production includes The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man & Woman of the Year event in San Francisco, Sunburst Project’s 1st Annual Biotech Classic, IDG Book's Wine for Dummies launch at the Niebaum-Coppola Estate Winery, the Russ Coughlan Classic, an annual fundraiser for the San Francisco Child Abuse Council, and numerous Bay Area charity events including the San Francisco Firefighter's Toy Drive, Camp Sunburst, Mission High School's Athletic Scholar Program, the Rose Resnick Center for the Blind, The World Affairs Council, Richmond-Ermet AIDS Foundation, Project Inform, and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.

Hathaway is a California native based in San Francisco and holds a marketing degree from Arizona State University.

Shelli Ryan, Lead B2B Strategist

Shelli Ryan serves as lead business-to-business strategist for Hathaway PR. Ryan oversees her own B2B technology agency, Ad Hoc Communication Resources, in Omaha and San Francisco.

Ryan was recently named one of the "Top 40 Executives Under 40" by her local Business Journal, "PR Professional of the Year" by her state PRSA chapter, and winner of three American Marketing Association awards. For over 18 years, she has been sought for marketing strategy, branding, competitive research, and analyst and media relations, by national and international technology and bioscience firms.

Shelli has developed PR strategies for high tech clients including Nortel Networks, Sanmina-SCI Corp, Surewest Wireless, Sentryware, the Madrid-based web security application providers, Trusted Network Technologies, CrossCommerce, Peak VX Networks, Promatory Communications, Netformx, Terayon Communications, Egix, West Corporation, Zend Technologies, the Israeli-based developers of the PHP scripting language, and Nishan Systems (now McDATA Systems), providers of real-time storage services, IP solutions and internetworking capabilities.

After earning a technology degree, she began her career as a technical writer for EDS, was a print reporter, and has provided leadership to high tech clients in several vertical markets.

She has been responsible for managing international press efforts in many regions including South America, the United Kingdom, South Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Ryan managed the publicity for the first shared ATM network in China and the first U.S. smart card deployment.

A frequent author and speaker on business-to-business marketing, Shelli earned her Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma and completed crisis communications training from Columbia University.

Alan Frank, Technical Writer

Alan Frank serves as lead technical writer for Hathaway PR.

With 15 years of experience in technology publishing, Alan Frank has served as an editor of several networking and communications-oriented magazines, including LAN Technology magazine (where he established and managed the reviews department and served as Sr. Reviews Editor), Network Magazine (as Reviews Editor and Technical Editor), and Communication Systems Design (as Executive Editor).

Subsequently, he established and served as CEO and principal analyst of
Vision3G LLC, a research firm based in North Carolina focused on the communications markets.

Phil Britt, Financial Services & Vertical Industries Writer

Phil Britt serves as lead financial services and vertical markets writer for Hathaway PR.

Britt has over 15 years of financial services industry experience and over 10 years of technology industry experience.

He has served as a contributing editor for Microbanker, Valuations & Perspectives, Real Estate Portfolio, Telephony, Supercomm Show Dailies 1998-2004, CRM Magazine, Networking Pipeline, Advanced IP Pipeline, Mobile Technology, Globalcom 1999 Show Daily among other publications and editorial positions.

Lauren Heinemann, Hathaway PR Media Specialist

Lauren Heinemann serves as Media Specialist, coming on board at Hathaway PR in 2006.

Lauren is responsible for media research, client databases, client metrics analysis and handles the editorial calendar for many client engagements. She also project manages all offsite events and is responsible for media photography and graphics distribution.

Lauren supervises the San Francisco State Intern Program for Hathaway PR.

Lauren graduated in May 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from San Francisco State University. She is an active member of both PRSA and IABC.

Will Baker, Hathaway PR Media Specialist

Will Baker has lead our wine and entertainment programs since March 2006.

Will is responsible for managing all marketing relations for our winery client’s 25-state distribution arm, all editorial and tasting submissions programs and media placements.

Will also handles media research, client databases, client metrics analysis and handles the editorial calendar for many client engagements.

Will’s background includes 5-star hotel operations in both Aspen and San Francisco. He also recently served as promotions director and production assistant with a local entertainment firm based in San Francisco.


Anthoney Santana, Creative Services

Anthoney Santana leads our Creative Services division and is responsible for all graphics production, client newsletter production and advertising layout.

He has been a design associate, fashion product development designer, catalog designer, photographer and production artist with Goorin Brothers and JD Fine & Company. He has also held sales and retail display positions with Nieman Marcus,

Anthoney graduated from the Art Institute of California in San Francisco in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design.
